User experience is an increasingly important part of the Ansys product portfolio and impacts the way customers use and work with our products every day. The Ansys UX Product Manager is responsible for driving and supporting the evolution of user experience across the Ansys portfolio of products and solutions including managing and contributing to corporate style guides, user interface toolkits and application frameworks. Responsibilities also include guiding and assisting UX implementation efforts within existing product lines.


In this position you will be part of a highly motivated international and diverse team of engineers, mathematicians and UX designers who work to innovate and redefine the user experience for Ansys products both on the desktop and in the cloud. 


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Help champion user experience across the Ansys portfolio
  • Evaluate and review existing product lines and recommend changes to reflect current Ansys style guides, toolkits, and user experience best practices
  • Coordinate UX activities and deliverables across development teams
  • Work closely with Development teams to create realistic development plans and schedules
  • Work closely with the UX center of excellence to refine and evolve the UX strategy at Ansys
  • Track and prioritize functional deliverables that support UX activities across various development teams
  • Assist with creation of design specifications, requirements, and mock-ups
  • Engage ACE (ANSYS Customer Excellence) teams regularly to gain product feedback and assess competitive threats
  • Maintain close relationships with customers to remain aware of their needs and perspectives
  • Support evolution of the UX strategy at Ansys in support of corporate initiatives and goals
  • Represent Ansys UX at customer meetings, conferences, and events
  • Provide quality assurance testing and feedback on new UX features and design flows as necessary
  • Provide training to Customer Excellence and Account Teams as necessary


Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in interaction design, HCI, industrial design, engineering or closely related field with 2 years of combined experience in any of the following: engineering, computer aided engineering (CAE), pre-sales support, or customer engagement, or master’s degree with no experience
  • Detailed experience with commercial CAE tools, engineering simulation concepts, and product capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills, especially the ability to communicate business value of technical innovations


Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Master’s degree in HCI, product design or engineering, 5+ years of combined experience in engineering, CAE simulations, or technical sales
  • Experienced in using Ansys products and/or competitive products in the market
  • Prior experience in a sales support, technical sales or product management role
  • Experience in product or project management within software development
