Summary / Role Purpose
Ansys seeks a Senior R&D Engineer (Senior Automation DevOps Engineer - Building CICD and Integration) to contribute on QA Process automation within a small effective cloud-focused team. Prioritizing developer and operations enablement, the engineer will deliver DevOps responsibilities for Quality Assurance automation. Leveraging industry experience, the engineer will help to configure and maintain the suite of application, service, and platform lifecycle management tools and their integrations in a SaaS environment. The engineer will also work to define and implement practices that adhere to Soc2 and Ansys corporate quality policy, under change and extension, while delivering business value to cloud teams.
The Senior R&D Engineer will be responsible for creating, implementing, and maintaining the QA Process automation tooling for the Ansys Cloud Native platform development teams.

Create, implement, and maintain work/operations management systems’ integrations with industry standard tooling

Create and maintain technical diagrams and documentation
-
Develop and maintain CICD automation resources and templates
-
Promote best practices and support development teams’ operations and planning feedback loops
The Cloud QA team is both distributed and autonomous, but highly collaborative. The Senior QA Automation Engineer will be tasked with end-to-end tasks from problem definition to implementation. This role focuses on the idea that quality is:

Key Duties and Responsibilities
-
Perform complex development activities that may require extensive analysis in areas including:
-
cloud software and service deployment and maintenance
-
distributed system maintenance and scaling
-
Use modern cloud automation best practices and tooling
-
Help scale our processes (development environments, CICD pipelines, deployments, service delivery)
-
Root cause investigation, automated deployment testing, production incident solving
-
Work independently with minimal supervision, occasional planning and mentoring responsibilities
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
-
BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 5 years’ experience, MS with 3 years’ experience, or PhD with 1 year experience
-
Commercial experience with software design and development methodologies
-
CICD development experiences:
-
*nix development environments
-
Container image definition and deployments
-
Python and/or Bash scripting
-
at least 1 CICD tool's pipeline definition as code
-
at least 1 Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling ecosystem
-
Web application and systems development troubleshooting skills and experience
-
Recent demonstratable knowledge and usage of modern web application, cloud platform security practices and tools

Demonstrable experience articulating and communicating the non-technical goals and practices of DevOps to software development teams
Preferred Qualifications and Skills

Knowledge of Distributed systems design and operation
