The R&D Engineer is part of a dynamic team dedicated to the ANSYS WorkBench product. This individual will work with the team, integrating and exposing new software features to the end user with a focus on intuitiveness and performance.  The successful candidate will join an agile, fast-paced team that helps produce best-in-class simulation software.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in the software development lifecycle by completing tasks within the requirements of the ANSYS development process. Contribute to design meetings, perform implementation and maintenance of multiple product modules. (45%)
  • Perform complex bug verification, release testing, and beta support for assigned products. Research and develop solutions to problems discovered by QA or product support. Conduct unit testing and integration testing for functionality and limits. (45%)
  • Research and understand the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues. Research new technology or development tools to remain informed of current trends and innovation. (10%)

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience with software development methodologies, design and implementation.
  • Experience with object-oriented design and design patterns
  • Understanding of entire development process, including specification, documentation and quality assurance.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a geographically distributed organization

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1 to 2 years of commercial software development experience
  • Proficiency in C# and Visual Studio IDE
  • Experience in developing front to mid-tier desktop applications
  • C++ experience is a plus
  • Linux-based development and debugging experience is a plus
  • Microsoft COM experience is a plus
  • Experience with Javascript, HTML, CSS
  • Experience with HTML manipulation (jQuery/D3)
  • Experience with web frameworks (Angular/React)
  • Experience with NoSql databases (MongoDB) is a plus
