The Senior R&D Engineer for the ANSYS Rigid Body Dynamics (RBD) development team will write C++, C# and python code to implement innovative numerical methods and complex algorithms, as well as perform routine work of maintenance of a released product (including defect correction, non-regression testing maintenance, and second level support).  He will bring professional knowledge to the team in the area of transient dynamics simulation and have a solid experience of commercial C++ and object oriented development.



- Write software code to extend existing solver capabilities using C++, C# and python programming languages
- Work independently with guidance on more complex issues; provides professional know-how to enhance the knowledge and skill base of the organization.
- Use advanced analytical, technical and problem solving skills to adapt policies and programs and develop models to support smaller projects.
- Focus on providing analyses and applying results to improve business operations.
- Participate in the entire development process including specification, development, testing, documentation, maintenance and support
- Research problem discovered by QA or production support and develop solutions
- Understand, employ and maintain best software practices through unit testing, design and code review



- Master’s degree in applied mathematics, computational mechanics or computer science with 8 to 10 years of experience in simulation software development or PhD in applied mathematics, computational mechanics with 5 years of experience in simulation software development

- Strong understanding of scientific computing and numerical methods for computational Mechanics
- Strong knowledge of C++ and object-oriented programming in commercial cod
- Good written and oral communication/presentation skills
