ANSYS recently released Discovery Live (www.ansys.com/discovery) a unique real-time easy-to-use simulation tool that we believe can make engineering simulation as pervasive as Excel. Some analysts have called it “one of the biggest breakthroughs in design and engineering technology in the last ten years”. This is certainly one of the most exciting technologies in the industry and a chance to work on the team that will transform how the products of tomorrow are engineered.

 

The R&D Engineer II contributes to the development of Discovery Live software product. In this role, the R&D Engineer II will collaborate with a team of expert professionals and help the product development team to accomplish development objectives.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Write a new generation of linear solvers for structural mechanics on GPU in C++ and CUDA.
  • Participate in the entire development process including specification, development, testing, documentation, maintenance and support.
  • Analyze and tune performances of the software on single and multi-GPU.
  • Pursue research investigation to introduce new technologies.
  • Understand, employ and maintain best software practices through unit testing, design and code review.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • PhD degree in Applied Mathematics or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge in linear algebra and multi-grid based linear solvers.
  • Passion for software development in C++.
  • Energy, creativity, and a desire to succeed in solving complex problems.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Good understanding of scientific computing and numerical methods for Computational Mechanics.
  • Familiarity with various aspects of parallel and high-performance computing (MPI, CUDA).
  • Knowledge of Python and C#.
  • Good written and oral communication/presentation skills in both French and English.
