Finite Element Analysis has reached maturity after almost 50 years of commercial availability, and the market is shared by a handful of well known players. In order to facilitate the migration of Finite Element input decks to our more interactive multi-physics pre and post processor ANSYS Mechanical, we expose high added value “translation” capabilities, who aim at rebuilding natively a model that has captured the engineering intent of the simulation, and leads to similar results with our own MAPDL solver. As a Software Developer, you  will need to run and compare competitor and in-house solvers, define some strategies to translate the various commands, that not only lead to comparable results but also use state of the art features in our Mechanical preprocessor and MAPDL solver  in order to achieve the best performances. 




• Write C++, C# and Python software to read and translate finite element input decks

• Investigate translation strategies by running multiple finite element solvers, understanding the engineering intent and abstracting it in a user friendly model setup. 

• Participate in the entire development process including specification, development, testing, documentation, maintenance and support

• Understand, employ and maintain best software practices through unit testing, design and code review




• Master’s degree in computational mechanics with 3 to 5 years of experience, 

• Strong computer science background, with  knowledge of C++, Python, C# and object-oriented programming, and a passion for software development.

• Strong understanding of scientific computing and numerical methods for computational Mechanics and Optimization

• Good written and oral communication/presentation skills in both French and English




• PhD in computational mechanics, using ANSYS, NASTRAN and / or ABAQUS

• Experience developing and debugging on Windows and Linux is desired. 

• Ability to work in a geographically distributed development environment.
