Summary / Role Purpose

Participate in the Ansys Student Internship Program to apply your education to real-life engineering problems, improve your professional skills and gain work experience at Ansys. The student intern will be part of the Ansys Customer Excellence team. He/she will use Ansys engineering simulation products to model and simulate the performance of engineering products in a variety of industries. The intern will have the opportunity to interact with Ansys' global leaders. The internship will last 6 months.


Key Duties and Responsibilities


Under the supervision of an experienced Application Engineer, the intern will be responsible for performing finite element calculations on industrial applications in structural mechanics in the aeronautical field. He/she will :

  • Become familiar with the use of the ANSYS Mechanical simulation software
  • Understand the different modelling techniques related to industrial problems (linear, non-linear, dynamic, cyclic symmetry, thermal analyses, etc.)
  • Carry out the implementation of these various problems in the ANSYS Workbench environment
  • Analyse the results obtained and compare them with reference test cases.
  • Ensure that bugs are reported to development and that they are properly taken into account and resolved.


The diversity of the types of analysis to be carried out make this internship rich and varied in terms of numerical simulation. It will allow the trainee to confront real and complex simulation cases, in collaboration with a major player in the Aeronautics Industry. It will also allow the trainee to become familiar with the functioning of a software company.




Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience


  • Currently enrolled in an Engineering Master’s Degree program and in their final year of study
  • Ready to work at the advertised location without requiring relocation assistance by Ansys
  • Motivated to learn. Strong problem solving, communication and time management skills
  • Demonstrated skills in writing, understanding, and presenting in fluent English


Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Knowledge of computer languages – C/C++, Python, Java
  • Knowledge of CAD packages such as SolidWorks, NX, Catia, etc.
  • Knowledge of Linux OS and general understanding of IT hardware and systems
