As an intern, you will help develop our industry-leading simulation software while gaining real experience in your field of study. You will work on a variety of impactful projects to help maintain, advance, and accelerate ANSYS products. In this internship, you will support our EBU R&D Verification team. This is a 40-hour per week paid position starting January 2022 and concluding April 2022. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Develop new application frameworks to enable push-button automation of regression scripts

  • Extend existing PERL applications for flexibility and portability to enable robust operation 

  • Migrate libraries and applications from Python 2 to Python 3 ecosystem

  • Develop GUI applications for internal QA tools

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Pursuing an MS or BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or related technical degree with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. 
  • Currently enrolled in a full-time degree program and returning to university after the completion of the internship program. 
  • Experience with scripting languages like PERL and/or Python  

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Experience with PERL, Python, Linux, Azure DevOps, Version Control (e.g. Git)

  • Familiarity with how applications connect to and communicate with each other (e.g. child processes, data handling, multi-threading/multi-processing)

  • Strong ability to self-start and ask questions to overcome challenges

  • Ability to participate in collaborative efforts effectively across multiple disciplines and geographies

  • Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills and drive to develop innovative products

  • Experience in heterogeneous development environments (Windows & Linux).

  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to pick new projects and technology development efforts from scratch. 
  • Good communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
