Research and Development Engineer II, Hybrid Field-Circuit Solvers




A successful candidate in this role will be contributing to development of parallel, highly scalable algorithms for specialized electromagnetic solvers based on finite element, method of moments, and circuit methods targeted for signal and power integrity applications. The candidate will be working closely with other R&D developers, product engineering, and application engineers to design, develop and deliver new technologies in electromagnetic simulation of printed circuit boards (PCBs) and packages. A successful candidate will have a proven track record in computational electromagnetics and hybrid solver technology.




  • Research and development of hybrid numerical algorithms for fast and accurate high frequency simulations of PCB and packages capable of running on high performance shared and distributed memory systems.
  • Implementing numerical and software features in C++ on time and with upmost quality.
  • Maintaining and supporting current code base. Working together with other teams to ensure integration between products.
  • Understand, employ, and maintain best software practices through design and code review, testing, and validation.




  • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or a MS degree with a minimum of three years of relevant experience
  • Familiarity with electrical modeling and simulation, specifically with numerical methods, such Finite Element Method (FEM) or Method of Moments (MoM) and its implementation aspects for electromagnetic applications. 
  • Experience in scientific programming in C/C++ and good software development skills.  
  • Knowledge of parallel and distributed systems (threads, message passing and hybrid systems). Prior experience with OpenMP, MPI, or multi-threading is preferred.




  • PhD degree is preferred
  • Knowledge of power and signal Integrity concepts is highly desired.
  • Understanding of basic circuit theory concepts.
  • Experience in heterogeneous development environments (Windows & LINUX).
  • Familiarity with performance analysis (scalability, network and I/O optimization and parallel I/O, etc.) is a plus.
  • Self-motivated individual with ability to pick new projects and technology development effort from scratch
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
