SUMMARY
Ansys offers a complete portfolio of tools for optics simulation, including the best-in-class Lumerical suite of products for photonic design. Lumerical tools are used for a wide variety of applications, from photonic integrated circuits for datacom and sensing to full optical systems for consumer electronics.
You will work in a highly collaborative and dynamic team environment in Lumerical R&D department.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop automation workflows for photonic component design and data collection.
- Implement and maintain advanced photonic compact models for use in circuit-level simulation.
- Support development and verification of new features and performance improvements within Lumerical’s simulation framework, including new physics and new optimization algorithms, such as inverse design.
- Apply GPU and distributed computing to practical problems in photonic design. Understand real world impact and use of Lumerical tools.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Passion for photonics and software development.
- Proficient programming skill with Python.
- Experience using Lumerical’s tools and/or other photonic simulation tools.
- Design experience for various integrated photonic components, and/or photonic integrated circuits.
- Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with developing automation workflows in Python.
- PhD or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, physics, or related field, with a focus on photonics and/or electronics.
- Experience with applying machine learning to photonic designs and/or applications.
- Knowledge of photonic compact models for use in circuit simulations, such as SPICE, Verilog, and/or INTERCONNECT
- Experience in photonic IC design and tape-out using EDA tools (e.g., Virtuoso, OptoCompiler, Tanner, KLayout)
- Knowledge of the photonic Industry and ecosystem.
