As an R&D Verification Engineer, you will interact closely with Software Developers, Research Scientists and Applications Engineers to create, maintain, and improve automated acceptance and regression tests, to ensure that software builds are continuously and expediently tested and that defects are reported and monitored. 



The successful candidate works both independently and within a highly integrated team to:

•    Maintain a basic understanding of how to operate Ansys Lumerical software products;
•    Develop and maintain accurate and reliable test scripts using various testing tools;
•    Assist the other teams with troubleshooting and recreating customer issues;
•    Identify and report bugs using a defect tracking system and verify fixes;
•    Perform manual software testing on release candidate software builds; and
•    Support improvements to QA process, procedures, and infrastructure.

Minimum Qualifications

The successful applicant will possess all or most of the following qualifications and experience:

•    Pursuing a degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics;
•    Experience with MATLAB, Python, or a similar scripting language;
•    Experience with revision control using tools such as Git or CVS;
•    Exposure to QA methodologies, and testing techniques;
•    Excellent problem solving and analytic ability; and
•    Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Preferred Qualifications

•    Basic understanding of photonic science, applications, and technologies;
•    Previous experience in an agile software development environment;
•    Familiarity with Linux and Mac, and command line scripting; 
•    Exposure to software development lifecycle and
•    Previous Quality Assurance and testing experience.
