SUMMARY
The Application Engineer contributes to the support of software products and supporting systems. In this role, the Application Engineer will collaborate with a team of expert professionals to accomplish customer support objectives. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build technical expertise in Ansys tools and workflows, including but not limited to API’s, configuration options, features, workflow, and GUI usage
  • Provide hands-on tool support and debug to assigned customers to help them with their design analysis and tapeout needs
  • Listen, understand, and respond professionally to customers while engaging in technical discussions spanning design methodology and analysis requirements
  • Be prompt and responsive in addressing customer requests.  Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills along with IC design and tool knowledge to create solutions that will improve our customers’ productivity and satisfaction
  • Continually strive to improve understanding of customers’ workflows and technical needs; proactively work with team members to align on tool deployment and growth strategy
  • Demonstrate strong organization skills by clearly tracking open issues; multi-task without losing sight of high priority issues.
  • Take direction from a mentor to assist with evaluations, benchmarks, or demos

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • MS Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Experience with semiconductors or systems design and methodologies
  • Knowledge in the areas of Custom circuit analysis, RTL design, High-performance VLSI design, Standard cell physical layout, Power-grid extraction, Timing analysis, Noise analysis, and Voltage drop effects with various CAD tools to solve problems in complex System-on-Chip (SoC)

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • PhD Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Basic understanding of software support and specification process
  • Strong communication and social skills for working with internal and external stakeholders to define solutions that address customer pain points and manage customer expectations
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills along with domain expertise in relevant technical areas semiconductor and systems design specializing in digital, analog, Mixed-Signal and RF
  • Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team.
