Research & Development of Weather phenomena in Autonomous Vehicle Simulation

/ Summary / Role Purpose

In the context of our Autonomous Vehicle simulations (our AVxcelerate products line), our rendering team develops physics-based sensors (visible & Thermal) which are used by our clients to train perception algorithms. As such, it is needed to continually improve and/or add items to the simulated world and their effects such as lighting systems, the sky, and different weather conditions and phenomena. This includes all sorts of conditions including fog, water splashes, wet roads, rain, etc...

To be able to render these features accurately and efficiently, we need to review the literature and implement different prototypes to see what fits the best.

/ Key Duties and Responsibilities

As intern, you will be part of the AVxcelerate Rendering team which is responsible for implementing the physic-based rendering engine along physics-based Camera (visible & Thermal). The goal of the internship is to review the literature on the weather phenomena and implement different algorithms under CPU/GPU.

/ Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

You are validating a Master 2 of software engineering or equivalent graduation certificate with have high interest in image processing and rendering simulation.

/ Preferred Qualifications and Skills

Language: C#/C++, OpenGL (and/or Vulkan)

Skills: Math and image signal processing
