Role summary

 

Join the Ansys Customer Excellence team to partner with our customers to engineer what's ahead, solve their real-world engineering problems, deploy Ansys software in their design workflows, and grow Ansys’ business. As a hands-on expert in Ansys products, you will use advanced-level engineering knowledge to provide technical pre-sales support, perform professional services, and help translate customer requirements into exciting new product features. You will be working within Electric Machine team and multi-disciplinary teams to advance your knowledge, experience, and business impact.

 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in coordinating and executing all technical activities throughout the sales opportunity lifecycle such as technical discovery, product presentations, demonstrations, and evaluations.
  • Provide best in class Electrical Machine (Motor) solutions involving electrification, Multiphysics and Model Based Design.
  • Collaborate with the cross regional and cross functional teams to establish the workflows and solutions with team members.
  • Apply advanced engineering expertise and knowledge of motor simulation techniques to provide highest level technical support to customers and Channel Partners, ensuring high-quality, timely customer service that results in improved customer satisfaction and productivity.
  • Own the customer problems, proactively engage with selected accounts to provide comprehensive solutions. Work independently and contribute to all technical activities throughout the sales opportunity lifecycle, interact with customers to understand their business needs, product design needs and engineering design workflows and articulate Ansys’ value proposition.
  • Instruct introductory, intermediate and/or advanced training classes. Scope and deliver professional services for projects which might include collaborative work with other field engineers in the same or different disciplines.
  • Gather customer requirements and trends to support the improvement of Ansys software and collaborate with the Ansys product development teams to translate customer requirements into new product capabilities. Test new releases on industrial problems.
  • Participates in internal corporate initiatives to share knowledge and to create best practices, inside the discipline and cross-disciplines.
  • Develop simulation best practices, solutions, FAQs for knowledge base

 

 

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Required education and degree type: BS or MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Required minimum years of professional experience with motor design and/or analysis: BS+5, MS+3, or PhD+0
  • Fundamental understanding of electrical machines and their applications.
  • Two (2) years of experience in modelling and simulation for electric machines using Ansys Motor-CAD and Ansys Maxwell or other commercial low frequency electromagnetic Finite Element simulation tools.
  • Experience in using programming language (Python, C#, VBS etc.) for automating simulation workflows.
  • Hands-on experience using simulation to improve electrical machine performance using various optimization or design of experiments techniques.
  • Logical problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in writing and speaking English.
  • Organizational and time management skills possesses a sense of urgency.
  • Projects a professional image and demonstrates business acumen, driven to succeed
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 25% of time

 

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

 

  • Deep understanding of motor industry trends, technologies, engineering environment, product design complexity, development challenges etc.
  • 2 years of experience in application engineering, customer support, or consulting services type customer facing roles using engineering software
  • Experience with using other electric motor related CAE tools, e.g.  Fluent, Icepak, Mechanical, Twin Builder, JMAG, Star-CCM+, SPEED, Nastran, Romax, GT-SUITE, AMESim, MATLAB/Simulink, etc.
  • Ability to understand customer requirements and generate requirements document
  • Flexibility and adaptability to learn and understand new technologies
  • Ability to research and debug software-related issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand business requirements and translate these into an execution plan that delivers value and meets business goals.
  • Ability to interact effectively with senior business, engineering managers and/or C-level executives.
  • Ability to travel internationally for on-boarding and occasional training.
