As a Product Sales Manager you will be responsible for growing a portfolio of engineering software solutions. Unlike an account manager who focuses on selling all products into a limited selection of accounts, you will have access to all Ansys accounts in Japan, whether direct accounts or those managed by our network of channel partners. In this role, we will teach you about the products and the value that they bring to customers, but you won’t be expected to become an expert. You will need to understand the market, develop, and then execute a sales strategy. You will work in close collaboration with account managers, our technical team, our field marketing team and product management. This is a fantastic opportunity to broaden your sales skills into business development by working with a global software solutions leader. This position will suit an experienced salesperson who has a science or engineering education, or a presales engineer who is looking to transition into a sales or business development role.




Performs product sales activities to achieve or exceed assigned product and service revenue objectives

  • Partners with account managers to collaboratively develop and pro-actively execute strategies that drive the sale of the assigned products.
  • Effectively lead all stages of the sales process from developing sales plans and building pipeline to closing
  • Facilitates communication with the sales and technical team with respect to updates on product capabilities, success stories and winning strategies
  • Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with current and prospective customers to generate new business for the organization’s products and services
  • Creates and conducts product sales presentations to match company's products/services with identified customer needs.
  • Works with account managers to develop clear and effective written proposals, quotations and value propositions.
  • Coordinates sales effort with marketing, sales management, accounting and technical services groups
  • Participates in industry shows and conventions; leads training and seminars to enhance new business opportunities
  • Develops relationships with customers with the intent of securing, extending and elevating the Ansys presence within the account
  • Provides client feedback to product development and marketing.


  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in an engineering or science discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years of sales, technical presales, or consulting experience in selling technology applications
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to work independently
  • Minimum travel of 50%



  • Aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine appropriate solutions for customers
  • Ability to network using direct (face to face) or indirect (email, phone, social media) technology
