Hence the reason why the need of country-specialists in tax has become a priority in Europe. The Senior Tax Accountant would have a dual role: managing diverse UK tax compliance topics and providing tax support to our operations in the UK as well as managing the quarterly tax provision process for our UK entities. The Senior Tax Accountant will report to the Manager tax based in Paris.

 

 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

 

  1. Daily tax operations

 

Tax compliance

  • Manage and review the preparation of annual corporate income tax returns, the CT600 (tax compliance services will be provided by an external service provider) + review VAT returns
  • Management WHT clearance process
  • Management R&D claim process for the companies in the UK
  • Tax review of the annual accounts and tax analysis for financial auditors
  • Monitor changes in Tax legislation and international developments impacting our companies in the UK
  • Support group tax team in implementation of tax projects and transfer pricing policies impacting the UK entities

 

Tax administrative tasks

  • Management of cash tax payment and refunds
  • Tax Residence certificate requests
  • Liaise with HMRC, manage and support in tax audits

 

  1. US tax accounting

 

  • Quarterly preparation tax provision for the UK entities
  • Identification/Update Stat to tax temporary and permanent differences
  • Computation tax provision in tax software (Longview)
  • Preparation working papers to support current and deferred positions
  • Update tax questionnaire
  • Update income tax accrual table
  • Quarterly update tax cash payment schedule
  • Preparation RTP file following filing of the CTR
  • Identification potential FIN 48 positions
  • Quarterly review of the annual ETR (+forecast)

 

Other tasks as assigned

 

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Tax law or in Accounting or Economics
  • Required Minimum Years of Experience:  minimum of 5 years of experience acquired in the tax department of a US multinational, a Big 4, tax accounting firm, multinational technology company…

 

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Preferably CTA qualified, however, ACA/ACCA qualified candidates with extensive tax experience will be considered
  • Experience: Thorough knowledge of and experience with UK corporate tax laws, minimum of 5 years of experience with domestic corporate tax filings, US tax accounting (ASC 740) as well as US GAAP/IFRS knowledge required
  • Experience in managing relationships with various in- and external stakeholders including the HMRC
  • IT skills required: extensive use of Microsoft Excel & Word and experience with tax and accounting software preferred (e.g., Longview, Oracle).
  • Soft skills required: good communication and writing skills to interact with various departments, good analytical and organizational skills and detail oriented
