Summary / Role Purpose

The primary function of the Senior Accountant – EMEA Special Projects is to assist the Manager, EMEA Accounting Integration and Special Projects to coordinate Global, Regional or Local ongoing or ad hoc projects as directed by the Regional Controller. The objective of the position will be to support the accounting teams in the EMEA region, to act as a troubleshooter, to identify potential process improvements, and to assist on new and ongoing projects.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Working to enhance, standardise or transform current working practices across the Region and within individual entities.
  • Assisting the Manager, EMEA Accounting Integration and Special Projects in identifying and implementing new initiatives / systems across the region.
  • Assist with the implementation of recently issued U.S. GAAP accounting guidance, including the coordination between the corporate team and the EMEA Controllers.
  • Liaise within and across the EMEA accounting teams and other functions or stakeholders to troubleshoot procedural or accounting system problems.
  • Assist with running and coordinating with the EMEA subject matter expert groups.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.
  • Provide emergency assistance to the accounting teams across the region.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

 

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Part or Qualified Accountant in a recognised Accounting Qualification –i.e. ACCA or CIMA
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience of working in accounting function
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Advanced use of Excel and other Microsoft Office products
  • Strong commitment to quality and timely service
  • Ability to multi-task and work well, both independently and in a team

 

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Oracle EBS experience
  • Experience working with international subsidiaries
  • Understanding of UK & US GAAP differences
