Reporting to the Accounts Supervisor, the main duties of this role will include managing the Accounts receivables function from producing invoices and statements, dealing with all credit queries, to debt collection through to initiation of legal proceedings.
 
A good level of proficiency with spreadsheets is required. This is a standalone business critical role. It therefore requires that the jobholder has good business acumen, strong analytical and planning skills as well as a commitment to quality and on-going learning and development.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
  • Ensure that debts are paid in a timely manner
  • Meet cash & debtor day targets set by the Company
  • Chase overdue invoices by telephone, email & letter within agreed timescales
  • Maintain accurate records of all chasing activity
  • Identify changes in payment patterns and propose action to avert indebtedness
  • Ensure that all transactions are compliant with HMRC regulations
  • Handle disputed bills and negotiate to bring payment within the agreed terms
  • Provide accurate advice on billing queries
  • Respond promptly and completely to both client and internal enquiries
  • Propose write off on irrecoverable WIP and disbursements
  • Prepare files for transfer to the Debt Recovery Agents
  • Providing ad-hoc reporting as and when requested
  • Post payments to accounts and allocate as required
  • Undertake account reconciliations as required
  • Ensure monthly processing deadlines are met as required
  • Send out monthly client statements/letters as may be agreed from time to time
  • Develop the Credit Management profile within the company working closely with Sales Dept.
  • Manage the recording, approval, and payment of all third-party commission payments
  • Provide cover for other accounting functions as requested
  • Other duties as delegated from time to time by the Finance Manager
  • Work closely with ANSYS UK Senior Credit Controller and provide cover as necessary
 
Minimum Qualifications
 
  • Likely to have a qualification in credit management or will have gained the equivalent level of knowledge and skill through on-the-job experience and training
  • Minimum 1 years’ experience in credit controller position
  • Experience managing high volume collections
 
Specialized Knowledge & Skills:
 
  • Excellent written and verbal English language & communication skills are required.
