SUMMARY

 

The tax manager in China will work with and provide tax support to BUs sales, operation and R&D management and Corporate management. This is a key position within the finance team and linked closely with the rest of the APAC region as well as Corporate tax team. He/She will report to China Finance Controller.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Responsible for designing, implementing, and improving the tax processes/procedures by working with related functions including Accounting and other supporting functions
  • Manage and monitor tax accounting including tax accrual, defer tax, etc. under both of US GAAP and PRC; manage monthly/quarterly/annual tax reporting, including tax forecast and provisions, and manage the effective tax rate
  • Work closely with accounting team for statuary reporting for China entities from tax perspective
  • Manage tax assessments and tax audits by interfacing with external tax authorities, government agencies, as well as company internal functions. Provide support to BUs for China direct/indirect/withholding tax compliance 
  • Work with a team in providing tax advices to business and other supporting functions on various operational issues including but not limited to the corporate projects, local and cross border transactions, new business models, business reorganization, etc.
  • Tax Incentives & Subsidies. Structure the business to satisfy the possible tax benefits, exemption, and nil tax rate application on turnover tax, apply for local financial incentives
  • Lead in tracking China tax legislation changes and update accounting and other supporting functions on applicable regulatory changes that may impact internal processes and systems
  • Manage and review transfer pricing documentation of PRC entities, fulfill the obligations of declaration and data preparation, recommend appropriate transfer pricing methods and coordinate with tax authorities

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Strong knowledge on China tax law and regulations and good understanding of local practices
  • Be solid aware of statuary accounting/reporting knowledge 
  • Self-driven, results oriented with strong ability to multitask and organize priorities
  • Good team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent planning, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • At 5-10 year’s relevant experiences in tax field (substantial experiences gained from Big 4 Firms and MNCs would be a plus)
  • Relevant experiences in statuary reporting filed would be a plus
  • Bachelor or master’s degree in accounting, Tax, Finance, Economics, or equivalent areas.
  • CTA/CPA or other equivalent qualification is a plus
