Summary / Role Purpose

The Sales & Order Operations Manager’s primary responsibility is to manage a Regional/Territory Sales & Order Operations Specialist Team and ensuring professional and efficient sales support for the Direct Sales Organization. This position handles policy and process-related issues related to sales support operations; and coordinating sales operations activities with other internal functions.  The Manager is also responsible for hiring, terminations, performance appraisals and pay-reviews for a specific team.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages personnel activities of staff (i.e., hires, terminates, trains, appraises, rewards, motivates, disciplines).
    • Directly supervise & coach Supervisors and other staff as applicable
    • Conduct performance reviews and helps identify annual goals for the team
  • Functional Leadership of Assigned Sales & Order Operations Staff ○Manages the activities and operations associated with the assigned team
    • Collaborates with Regional Sales Leadership and Direct Manager by raising areas that could improve overall productivity
    • Disseminate best practices to a global audience.  
    • Identifies inefficiencies and proposes recommendations for streamlining processes; includes provide suggestions/solutions to current documentation 
    • Interpret, apply and explain sales policies and procedures to staff
    • Troubleshoot administrative related issues involving key players, communicating evolving procedures
    • Ensures that sales support operations team has the most current knowledge of company's products, pricing policies and services to more effectively perform activities
  • Participate in Business Integration teams to provide critical information on current processes and help to develop best practices for a smooth transition 
  • CRM Product Management ○May represent the Sales & Order Operations function by providing input to the CRM Project Core Team
  • Facilitate Communication, Best Practices and Process improvement for the Sales & Order Operations function
    • Facilitates good communication within the team and with other functional groups
    • Ensures advocacy for the Sales & Order Operations Team by representing the staff within the larger organization
    • Maintain awareness of new initiatives that may impact the Global Sales administrative staff
    • Represent the Sales & Order Operations Function in cross functional initiatives

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in management business administration, accounting or another field.
  • A minimum of 10-12 years of experience in a sales, customer service environment, or similar position with 7 or more years of leadership responsibility.
  • Strong management and supervisory experience a must
  • Advanced knowledge of administrative practices and procedures
  • Advanced knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Experience with relational database management and budgetary software tools
  • Excellent leadership skills to motivate staff to reach company objectives under strict deadlines.
  • Work well with other managers to share departmental information and streamline project needs, as well as have superior organization skills and pay close attention to detail.
  • Gathers and analyzes information skillfully 
  • Able to handle sensitive, complex, confidential information
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to convey complex information to a broad audience
  • Possess the ability to organize information in a concise and structured manner

 

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Fluent in English and the local language of the region.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products and CRM systems, including Salesforce CPQ.
  • Open for travel (if needed).
