Summary / Role Purpose  

The Technical Support Engineer II: Business Development is responsible for leveraging Ansys’ best-in-class offerings in E-learning to create opportunities and develop clients and partners across universities and industries. In this role, you will lead in coordinating and executing all client development activities throughout the sales opportunity such as customer meetings and product presentations, demonstrations, and evaluations related to the E-learning Ansys Products. You will be required to work independently and in groups to scope business need and opportunities for potential clients and based on those requirements, draft, develop, and present the partnership terms and mutually beneficial proposals. This position is a key member of a dynamic team of engineers committed to solving complex customer issues and building the largest engineering education ecosystem. 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Identify and research potential clients and develop and maintain client relationships in universities and corporations
  • Coordinate with clients and internal stakeholders to negotiate contract terms and develop mutually beneficial proposals
  • Monitor project teams to ensure contracts are executed as agreed and update all stakeholders and internal executives
  • Interact with customers to help diagnose issues, as well as research and find solutions client’s problems, to improve customers’ productivity and satisfaction with ANSYS products
  • Assume ownership of the customer experience, practice active listening skills and respond positively to situations requiring cooperation, courtesy, and tact
  • Participation in internal corporate initiatives to further enhance the solution suites, sales enablement, and professional growth

 

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline with focus on Structural Mechanics areas
  • Demonstrated ability in business-to-business (B2B) and/or business-to-consumer (B2C) sales
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills to propose mutually beneficial solutions in client negotiations and think independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent prioritization skills and ability to receive and process multiple requests efficiently
  • Able to handle sensitive and confidential information at the highest level
  • Impeccable verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
  • Able to travel for meetings with prospective and existing clients

 

Preferred Qualifications and Skills 

  • Prior experience in a sales environment related to engineering domain
  • Inquisitive, avid learner, eager to identify solutions to problems
  • Assertive and must communicate expectations for deadlines clearly
  • Optimistic, high energy individual with passion and drive for personal technical excellence and high performance
  • Able to disseminate detailed, data driven requests into easy-to-understand deliverables
  • Able to travel up to 25% of the time
