Join the Ansys Customer Excellence team to partner with our customers to engineer enterprise-level software solutions and grow Ansys’ business. As a QA Engineer, play a critical role in helping Ansys maintain its industry leading reputation for quality and reliability of Ansys Platform solutions and supporting systems. In this role, you will collaborate with a team of expert professionals to support effective use of the Quality Management System at Ansys, promote continuous improvement and customer focus and ensure compliance with appropriate quality standards and regulations, based on extensive knowledge of standards, methods, and best practices.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work in an agile environment to apply QA practices for the next-generation customer centric solutions
  • Perform moderately complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned solutions. Research and resolve problems discovered by QA, field, or customer.
  • Carry out automation feasibility for any new application/module
  • Automating end to end integration tests
  • Working with the team to understand functional requirements
  • Creation, execution, and maintenance of automation scripts for different application
  • Contribute to analyzing new quality standards and regulations
  • Contribute to maintaining of critical quality system procedures
  • Perform internal audits and works across teams and business units to investigate and resolve compliance problems.
  • Contribute to quality system initiatives to improve specific quality system processes and/or supporting tools
  • Understand and employ best practices 
  • Understand the customer requirements for a solution, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues 
  • Work under the general supervision of a development manager

 

 

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Required education and degree type: BS or MS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Required minimum years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BS+5 or MS+3
  • Experience with the ISO 9001 standard, safety standards, quality audits and process improvement initiatives
  • Good understanding of QA process
  • Hands-on experience of OOPs (object-oriented programming languages)
  • Good hands-on experience in scripting using Python/Java or similar scripting language
  • Experience in design and maintenance of Selenium or JavaScript automation test frameworks
  • Experience in architecting test automation frameworks as per application needs
  • Experience in automating end to end integration tests
  • Experience in UI test automation
  • Experience in manual & automation API testing using tools like Postman.
  • Experience in functional testing and familiar with nonfunctional testing
  • Experience in the test planning, test design and test execution
  • Ability to estimate and plan the work
  • Familiar with Agile process and CI/CD with Azure DevOps or similar tools.
  • ISTQB Foundation or similar certification
  • Strong customer focus, ability to work effectively with customers and customers facing staff
  • Logical problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in writing and speaking English
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, possesses a sense of urgency
  • Ability to build trusting relationships and effectively interact with customers
  • Projects a professional image and demonstrates business acumen, driven to succeed

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Preferred education and years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BS+8, MS+6
  • Experience in a large-scale commercial software development environment 
  • Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team 
  • Thorough and careful approach to work; close attention to detail
  • Ability to take initiative, behave with integrity and respond maturely to management direction
  • Competent in the use of general office software applications such as mail tools, document editors, spreadsheets, and databases
  • Skilled in problem solving
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Practical experience with quality management, and process and risk-based methods
  • Good knowledge of quality standards (including ISO 9001) and regulations
