R&D Verification Engineer II

Summary / Role Purpose  

The R&D Verification Engineer II joins CSEBU ( Cloud, Solutions & Enablement BU ) is responsible for the software testing of ANSYS applications and solutions. This role uses advanced engineering and software skills to assess how well the product meets customer needs for functionality and usability and ensures that product requirements and quality standards are met. The role works closely with other members of the product creation team and communicates with technical specialists on product issues.  

Key Duties and Responsibilities 

• Specify and write test cases, create, modify, and update existing tests, write and maintain test scripts. 
• Perform functional, application, regression testing in manual and/or automated test environments. 
• Create test plans and contribute to testing initiatives, responsible for coverage analysis and testing metrics in specific areas, participate in defect management. 
• Apply technical and professional knowledge in specialized areas and investigate complex product issues and problems. 
• Analyze product requirements and develop tests for new features/solutions. 
• Work in a variety of computing environments e.g., Windows, Linux, VM’s, Compute Clusters, Cloud. 
• Work in an agile environment to apply standard Quality practices for the next-generation customer centric solutions. 
• Working with the team to understand functional requirements. 

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience 

• BS in Engineering, Computer Science or related field with 2+ years of experience or MS 
• Strong computing skills with demonstrated knowledge of QA process. 
• Hands-on experience of OOPs (object-oriented programming languages) 
• Hands-on experience in scripting using Python/Java or similar scripting language. 
• Hands-on experience in automating end to end integration tests. (UI) 
• Basic knowledge API testing manual and/or API automation using tools like Postman. 
• Familiar with Agile process and CI/CD with Azure DevOps or similar tools. 
• Logical problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in writing and speaking English. 
• Strong organizational and time management skills possess a sense of urgency. 
• Ability to build trusting relationships and effectively interact with internal/external stakeholders. 

Preferred Qualifications and Skills 

• Experience with ANSYS products would be a clear advantage. 
• Experience in a large-scale commercial software testing and verification environment. 
• Basic understanding of software testing and verification processes. 
• Ability to take initiative, behave with integrity and respond maturely to management direction. 
• Good communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team.
