Summary / Role Purpose

The ANSYS Solution QA Lead is responsible for leading the QA aspects of our Solutions and ensure implementation of best testing practices and guidelines. These solutions are built on ANSYS Platform that will enable customers’ engineers to access simulation flows through web applications for their engineering design processes e.g. for autonomous driving (ADAS/AV), 5G systems, electrification etc. As a Solution QA Lead, you will plan, coordinate, and execute software testing and verification activities, continuously interact with customers to specify, write, and maintain test cases, test the deliveries and perform Root Cause Analysis.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plans, coordinates, and executes software testing and verification activities within customer-focused projects
  • Continuously interact with customers to specify, write, and maintain test cases: both automated and manual tests
  • Tests the deliveries at all levels: workflow, unit, application, performance
  • Investigates possible causes of problems, Perform Root Cause Analysis
  • Writes and maintains test scripts for software testing tools
  • Actively participate in project planning, design brainstorm sessions and scrum meetings
  • Creates metrics and monitoring systems that are used for early detection of defects
  • Work in an agile environment to develop the next-generation customer centric ANSYS Solutions
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and build solutions
  • Think “outside the box”, prototype internally and let your ideas be known
  • Scale QA good practices and reusable patterns overall ACE worldwide organization
  • Mentors young testers and coordinates contractors’ activities
  • Be a team player who can collaborate effectively with all key ANSYS and customer stakeholders including sales, product development, project management, implementation engineers, and end users


Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences, Applied Math, Engineering or related field
  • A minimum of 10 years of working experience for a commercial software company as Quality Assurance Engineer, R&D Verification Engineer or QA team leader
  • Strong understanding of software QA methodologies including development, execution and maintenance Test plans, Test suites, Test harness, Test final result documents and bug reports
  • Proficient in one or more test automation frameworks such as Selenium
  • Proficient in test automation methods e.g. BDD, Specflow etc.
  • Experience in any API client testing tools e.g. Postman, Swagger or SoapUi etc.
  • Experience in strategize, plan, schedule and coordinate testing to meet delivery dates and commitments
  • Experience in SDLC
  • Knowledge in Agile framework – from being in an agile team to leading an agile transition in your company
  • Experience in version control tools
  • Experience in non-functional testing, performance, security testing
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in the English language
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Self-driven and highly motivated team player


Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. degree will be considered
  • Experience with cloud technology frameworks on Azure or AWS
  • Programming skills are highly desirable
  • Experience with system and or simulation tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, any ANSYS solver, …
  • Good understanding of engineering or physics
  • Experience in Enterprise Systems – PLM/ALM/ERP
  • Ability to work independently, as well as with others in a diverse team environment
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
