Summary / Role Purpose

Join the Ansys Customer Excellence Team to put forward your advanced-level engineering knowledge to provide technical support, find solutions to a wide variety of technical challenges and channel customer feedback to improve Ansys products. You will be a part of our positive, dynamic team of enthusiastic and passionate engineers striving to deliver highest quality solutions to our customers.

The Consulting Engineer shall be proactively engaging with the group of targeted customers to understand their existing softwares especially Simulation Process and Data Management platform and provide support in product feature enhancements by providing custom state-of-the-art solutions.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Apply advanced software skills to provide highest level technical support to Customers
  • Work independently to analyze technical needs, requirements, and state of a customers’ current infrastructure, operations, and engineering workflows
  • Create and demonstrate solutions to streamline customer business processes and manage complex deployment processes
  • Develop custom solutions per customer requirements using latest software technologies
  • Effectively collaborate with both internal and customer teams during all phases of product implementation and support
  • Participate in internal corporate initiatives to further enhance the products, consulting and training offerings; actively participate in the development and mentoring of team members
  • Submit suggestions for product improvement, when needed. File defect reports and verify fixes adhering to defect reporting processes. Participate in field testing of new releases to ensure that new features and workflows will address customer requirements
  • Adhere to support processes to ensure high-quality, timely customer service that results in customer satisfaction

 

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other technical discipline
  • A minimum 3 years of experience in an engineering software environment
  • Demonstrated use of relevant Ansys software or knowledge of other commercial CAE, CAD, EDA, PLM software packages
  • Must have excellent analytical skills with strong acumen for development, issue resolution, problem-solving and troubleshooting activities
  • Hands-on experience working in integrated development environments, source code management tools etc.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in C#, C++, Python, .Net programming languages
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Front-end programming: JavaScript, React, jQuery, HTML5, AngularJS etc.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in PDM configuration, implementation and customization
  • Experience with enterprise class product development systems like PLM (Preferably Aras PLM), ALM, and ERP
  • Logical problem-solving approach and the ability to clearly communicate the situation and proposed solution to the customer
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to facilitate and conduct webinars and presentations to customers
  • Possesses a sense of urgency, strong organizational and follow-up skills

 

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • MS/MTech degree preferred
  • 2 years of experience in customer-facing roles associated with using engineering simulation software, where the ability to identify customer requirements, effectively communicate solutions, and deliver results have been demonstrated
  • Good understanding of web architecture, distributed systems and web APIs, such as REST APIs, SOAP & custom scripts
  • Experience with Web Server technologies, such as IIS, nginx is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft SQL or Oracle is a plus
  • Flexibility and adaptability regarding learning and understanding new technologies along with strong written and oral communication skills
  • Must have passion and drive for personal technical excellence and high performance
  • Must have customer service aptitude and maintain customer focus
