Summary / Role Purpose

The primary function of this position is to assess, develop, and enhance pre- and post-sale technical capabilities of Ansys channel partners in the region while ensuring they can effectively promote, sell, and support the Ansys portfolio and drive sustainable double-digit sales growth. These objectives are accomplished by persuading partner principals and technical managers to invest in technical pre- and post-sales capacity, capabilities, and processes to support flagship products – Mechanical, Fluids, Electronics (Low and High Frequency), Systems – as well as new and emerging technologies. This position will also support and guide partners with recruiting key technical personnel, customer retention strategies, and associated best practices / metrics.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for influencing and persuading partner principals to invest in pre- and post-sale technical capacity to support sales growth, customer retention, and customer satisfaction goals. Must work closely with channel development management team to review / approve partner annual business plans for technical capacity and capabilities.
  • Assess partners’ technical skills and expertise, and develop enablement plans to ensure partners have the right level of technical capabilities. Enablement execution is done in collaboration with Ansys technical and product management functions.
  • Assess partner technical teams in pre- / post-sale engagements with customers and prospects, giving feedback about ways to improve / develop skills, practices, and methods.
  • Engage and align with the channel partner technical management on building technical capabilities to sell / support the full Ansys product portfolio and deliver successful customer implementations and deployments.
  • Enable partner pre-sales application engineers in the region on new and emerging technology solutions, namely optics and photonics products, etc.
  • Guide and support partners with recruitment processes and activities for key technical positions.
  • Advice and support channel partners in the execution of customer retention strategies and provide best practices and associated metrics. Analyze partner customer satisfaction ratings and drive customer complaint resolution through partners in a timely and quality manner.
  • Conduct partner quarterly technical reviews.
  • Support channel technical and sales certifications for the region.
  • Drive partners’ participation in boot camps and advanced training classes.
  • Identify partner / region specific Ansys product requirements and feed into field / factory interlock process.
  • Deliver technology keynote presentations at partner UGMs and key demand generation events.


Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years of engineering simulation experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years senior-level experience in application engineering, customer support, customer consulting services, and/or related customer facing activities.
  • Knowledgeable in the application and use of Ansys simulation products or other high-end simulation tools.
  • Demonstrated understanding of engineering practices and the product development process within R&D function.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and influence skills.
  • Travel 30%+ required.
