Summary / Role Purpose

The purpose of the Application Developer II is to be a member of the core ServiceNow development team responsible for ongoing improvements and implementation of new capabilities and features across the entire ServiceNow application footprint that is deployed at Ansys. The role will possess a strong technical background and will be extremely analytical, proactive, and ambitious.  The role will be able to drive change and communicate product knowledge around new features and functionality. 


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with delivering the backlog of requests for ServiceNow development and configuration
  • Complete development and design documentation including configuration and workflow administration
  • Implement new modules/applications, build integrations, perform testing and support patching/upgrade releases
  • Manage Discovery schedules, MID server health and maintain CMDB integrity
  • Work closely with infrastructure groups to educate and identify areas for improvement
  • Provide daily operational support, assist with license management, and perform maintenance for all products on the platform
  • Create, maintain, and enhance future integrations between ServiceNow and other systems
  • Collaborate with developers and business analysts in an Agile development environment
  • Support testing, configuration, change, and release management
  • Maintain responsibility for completion and accuracy of all work
  • Follow standard design patterns and coding practices, keeping custom code organized, readable, maintainable, and documented.
  • Participate in development testing as well as regression testing to support upgrades


Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience as ServiceNow developer
  • 3+ years of experience with ServiceNow Discovery, CMDB Administration, Orchestration, ITSM, Upgrades
  • 3+ years of experience with Javascript
  • 2+ years of experience with ServiceNow Service Portal administration and development
  • Strong understanding of SOAP, REST and JSON frameworks
  • ServiceNow Administrator Certification
  • ServiceNow Application Developer Certification
  • Strong understanding of ITIL processes,
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong logical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work as part of a diverse geographical team
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies


Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • ITIL V3 or 4 Certification
  • Experience with ServiceNow Performance Analytics, Automated Test Framework
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – Discovery, ITSM
  • Experience with Tasktop Integrations Hub
  • Experience with Kanban in Azure DevOps
