Our interns work on a variety of impactful projects. They develop and test our industry-leading simulation software while gaining real experience in their field of study. This position is to directly support the Mechanical Business Unit at the Park City, UT office. The intern position will be highly focused on processing and analyzing data from experimentation and simulation for various metal Additive Manufacturing (AM) processes, running Additive Manufacturing (AM) simulation software and providing data analysis supporting calibration and validation activities. This internship is a 40-hour per week paid position starting  May 2023 and concluding  August 2023.


  • Work with the AM validation team to conduct iterative processing and analysis of experimental and simulation data
  • Support the organization and evaluation of large, parametric AM data sets
  • Support development of validation/calibration data schemas
  • Develop automation scripts for AM data analytics and visualizations



  • Pursuing a BS, MS or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical disciplines with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Must be currently enrolled in a full-time degree program and returning to the program after the completion of the internship
  • Team player, responsible and motivated.
  • Experience with metal additive manufacturing processes (LPBF, DED, Binder jetting sintering etc.) Experience with material testing and metallurgical characterizations Understand basic Design of Experiments methodologies such as ANOVA
  • Experience with writing Python scripts for process automation and visualization. Exposure to FEA, CAD concepts with hands-on software experience



  • Familiar with Ansys Workbench and Mechanical
  • Familiar with scan data processing software such as CloudCompare.
  • Experience with high temperature tensile testing
  • Hands-on experience with DfAM, process development for metal additive manufacturing
