Summary / Role Purpose

The Senior HR Generalist is responsible for providing human resources expertise to all managers and employees in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland (DACH). The job scope includes a wide range of HR topics and projects, such as Talent and Performance Management, Compensation and Benefits, Employee Relations and Organizational effectiveness. The Senior HR Generalist is the key role and drives the success of the DACH region. The Senior HR Generalist partners with the Country HR Manager DACH for HR functional excellence and process improvement to deliver maximum value to the organization.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Be a trusted advisor, change agent and coach for managers and employees
  • Work closely with business leaders and managers to define and implement global and local HR strategies to enable the accomplishment of business objectives and to support organizational growth
  • Drive and deliver HR initiatives to support business requirements, such as employee engagement and organizational change
  • Assure proper execution of global HR processes in line with local legal requirements (e. g. compensation review, reward cycle, talent reviews & development, performance management and others)
  • Responsible for employment contracts and supplements
  • Support the implementation of HR policies, processes, tools and systems and identify ways of improvement in line with best practice
  • Constructive collaboration with the works council in relation to the employee life cycle
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and support the recruitment process
  • Follow up and ensure compliance with health & safety regulations
  • Management and administration of local benefits
  • Contribute to global and local HR initiatives and projects
  • Liaise with Country HR Manager to ensure compliance with all labor regulations, security, and social obligations
  • Collaborate with local and international HR teams as required
  • Stand-in of HR Manager DACH during absence


Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in human resources or any other related field
  • 8 years of professional HR experience in an international context as business partner or generalist
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of employment and labor laws and HR best practices, concepts, and processes
  • Demonstrated ability to build partnerships, communicate effectively with all levels of employees and ability to foster teamwork at a local and global level
  • Proficiency in computer skills (MS-Office, Teams, Forms, SharePoint, HRIS, etc.)
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism and discretion
  • Hands-on mentality combined with can-do attitude and resilience
  • Fluent in German and English (verbal and written)


Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Relevant industry experience is a plus
  • Working experience in a fast paced and multi-national environment
  • Some travel required
