Summary / Role Purpose:

The Account Manager – Academic is responsible for the overall business from his territory for Academic market through strategic direct business from Top Institutes as well indirect business through channel partners. The Account Manager – Academic is responsible for achieving sales quota, academic initiative KPIs, and partner enablement objectives. The Account Manager – Academic needs to enable partner sales reps and represents the entire range of company academic products and services to the academic and research community across a given territory. The assignment is a very challenging, involving significant networking and high growth role providing great opportunity for the individual to develop and execute an annual academic business plan and associated Eco-System building initiatives & programs through direct and indirect business model, based out of ANSYS – Noida office reporting to the Academic Program Manager (India) based out of Noida.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to development and execute Go-To-Market strategy for Academic market in a given territory.
  • Responsible for meeting & exceeding the sales target assigned.
  • Responsible for accurate forecasting of sales revenue on a weekly basis and conduct monthly as well as quarterly business reviews with channel partners.
  • Develop initiatives to increase penetration of ANSYS products usage among student and lecturers by working closely with DTE and various governing bodies to incorporate ANSYS as part of the syllabus / curriculum of various universities.
  • Responsible for enhancing the awareness and usage of ANSYS portfolio among the research fraternity by making sure we have a good number of Thesis and Research publications every year. 
  • Establish contact and build strong relationships with various Ministries namely MHRD, S&T etc as well as various funding agencies namely WB, UNDP etc to propagate the simulation need to be as part of their skills & talent pool development programs.
  • Responsible for working with marketing to identify, plan and execute the marketing initiatives that would be relevant to the Academic GTM.
  • Motivate & Develop Channel Partner network in the assigned Territory
  • Focus on building strong pipeline for Campus-Wide License and Research License across India.
  • Ensure the channel ecosystem functions smoothly without any conflict.
  • Extremely motivated and a team player.


Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in selling CAD/ CAM/ CAE/ PLM industry in North & East Region
  • Exposure in managing business in North & East India
  • Channel management experience of 2-3 years
  • Excellent Presentation and Communication Skills
  • MBA would be desirable
