For this 6 month internship position, the intern should be registered in a French university or engineering school at master level in a mechanical engineering course. Description & Requirements Internship Position


As a Software Testing intern, you will support our Mechanical Business Unit in the validation of ANSYS Mechanical APDL Fracture Mechanics software features (including the automated crack growth tool SMART), in collaboration with a leading French customer from the Aerospace & Defence industry.
This is a paid 6-months internship position located at ANSYS Lyon (France). Starting in February or March 2024

RESPONSIBILITIES

− Perform software product testing to validate MAPDL features developed in late and current releases.
− Develop suitable simulation models and validate them with selected experimental results provided by the project partner, including
  - geometry preparation
  - selection of appropriate material modeling
  - selection of appropriate boundary conditions and modelling of loads
  - evaluation and summary of results in appropriate format
− Investigate possible causes of problems, file defects and verify fixed defects.
− Create detailed technical reports and present results and conclusions Ansys internal as well as to the industry partner
− Deduce Best Practices, Training and Marketing material

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Being currently registered in a French mechanical engineering course at master level, this internship is a 6 month end of study internship

  • Experience with at least one or several simulation software
  • Good understanding of structural analysis using the FEA method
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Fluency in English which will be used as the working language

Preferred qualifications:

  • Exposure to Ansys software, in particular Ansys Mechanical and APDL
  • Good understanding of Fracture Mechanics including assessment of cracks and fatigue crack growth
