Summary / Role Purpose

We are seeking an R&D Engineer with a proven track record of at least 2 years in Python development. The ideal candidate will have expertise in web frameworks such as Flask and FastAPI and possess prior experience in developing cloud-based applications. As an R&D Engineer, you will play a key role in our research and development efforts, contributing to the creation of interoperable solutions and the expansion of Ansys and Python eco-systems.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work on the elaboration of the Python API for the Scade One Integrated Development Environment.
  • Design and implement software components which meet the solution requirements.
  • Ensure the best possible performance and quality of the code to be delivered.
  • Implement appropriate testing strategies.
  • Interact with project teams across application to address project requirements, validation, and documentation.
  • Integrate various ANSYS tools as well as third party software into the solution to deliver innovative automated simulation workflows.

 

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Practical experience of using Object-oriented languages such as Python or C# with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in Python development.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux development environment
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Solid understanding of software development principles, including software design, testing, and version control.
  • Demonstrated skills in writing and presenting in fluent English.

 

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Knowledge in web frameworks like Flask and FastAPI, use of gRPC
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices 
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a geographically distributed team.
