SUMMARY 

The R&D Engineer is responsible for the design and development of new software modules or products in support of Workbench Mechanical products, including ACT Extensions and other customization tools. The focus of the R&D Engineer is developing engineering simulation tools within the corporate software framework. He will be involved in the exposure of particle-based approaches in Workbench Mechanical (SPH, EFG, DEM). 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

  • Research, design, develop, document and maintain the object-oriented simulation software modules within the corporate software framework 

  • Translate engineering representation of simulations into numerical solvers representation 

  • Develop and maintain ACT Extensions and other customization tools essential to the business unit 

  • Ensure the developed software is functional on all the ANSYS supported platforms such as Windows, Linux 

  • Other job-related duties such as defect correction may be assigned by management from time to time 

  • Engages a network of expert professionals to collaborate and accomplish development objectives 

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Computer/Software Engineering or Mechanical and minimum 3 year of experience as a commercial R&D engineer 

  • Experience of design and implementation of object-oriented application features in C# on .NET using applicable design patterns, Python, and programming in C++ 

  • Working knowledge on Linux environment 

  • Experience in using Microsoft Visual Studio and Software Configuration management tools (CVS, SVN, GIT) 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in both French and English 

  • Proven ability to collaborate in an open, multi-disciplinary, intense team environment and the passion to create high quality software 

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Master's degree in Computer Science/Computer/Software Engineering or Mechanical and minimum 1 year of experience as a commercial R&D engineer in the finite element development Field. 

  • Experience of design and implementation of object-oriented application features in C# on .NET using applicable design patterns, Python, and programming in C++ 

  • Working knowledge on Linux environment 

  • Experience in using Microsoft Visual Studio and Software Configuration management tools (CVS, SVN, GIT) 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in both French and English 

  • Proven ability to collaborate in an open, multi-disciplinary, intense team environment and the passion to create high quality software
