Summary / Role Purpose 
The Corporate Counsel, Employment will provide advice on a wide variety of general employment law matters across the EMEA region as well as on projects with global scope. We are looking for someone who is interested in working on HR and employee legal issues arising in a variety of different countries within the EMEA region. The role will report to the Assistant General Counsel & Director, Global Employment and be a key member of the Employment legal team within the Ansys Legal Department’s Global Ethics, Compliance & Risk team.  The Employment legal team provides legal counsel primarily to the Human Resources Department, but also to all other business groups within Ansys on legal issues related to all aspects of employment and the employee lifecycle. We are a key partner to the Company in executing its human capital management strategy. 


Key Duties and Responsibilities
•    Provide day-to-day labor and employment (L&E) legal advice and support to the HR team and to the business
•    Advise on a wide range of HR topics such as employment contracts, CBAs, work rules, policies and procedures; recruiting and hiring; immigration; performance management; discipline and terminations; compensation & benefit matters; internal investigations; disability and accommodations; sick leave and other leaves of absence; working time; confidentiality and restrictive covenants; settlement agreements
•    Review company policies for compliance with local laws and regulations
•    Support the Assistant General Counsel & Director, Global Employment on employment aspects of various business transactions, including reorganizations, acquisitions and integrations, as well as other HR projects and initiatives
•    Keep HR informed of significant L&E trends, legislation changes and rulings in the EMEA region that may impact the business
•    Draft and edit employment-related templates and documents (employment contracts, restrictive covenants, settlement agreements, etc.)
•    Provide L&E training to HR and the business
•    Manage EMEA L&E litigation matters with appropriate support from the Assistant General Counsel & Director, Global Employment
•    Work closely with the Labor Relations Team and provide legal advice on works council related matters 


Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
•    Law degree and admitted to practice law in France, Germany or the UK
•    Minimum of three years of directly relevant legal experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal environment
•    Ability to negotiate and draft in English language and at least one other language (French preferred)
•    Strong communication skills (oral and written), with both legal and non-legal professionals and comfort working in a role requiring utmost discretion and confidentiality
•    Ability to manage and prioritize multiple complex work projects simultaneously
•    Occasional travel required


Preferred Qualifications and Skills
•    Experience with employment law in France, Germany and UK
•    Ability to quickly identify matters and solutions and present them in a clear and articulate way 
•    Excellent time management, communications, decision-making, presentation, writing and organization skills
•    Flexible and adaptable - demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced working environment and work diplomatically and tactfully with others
•    An inclusive individual who thrives in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
