Summary / Role Purpose

The Accounting Assistant is responsible for maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely generation of the financial statements and management reports.  This position serves as support, communicator, internal consultant, and business partner, working under defined deadlines and performing a diverse set of accounting activities including journal entry preparation, assistance with the following, month-end close, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of accurate, complete, and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP that are compliant with internal policies
  • Manage the treatment of the “prod run” (Customer invoicing) to and send the invoice thru the appropriate way (Customer website upload, E-invoicing, post mail).
  • Assist the Senior accountant for manual invoicing if necessary
  • Maintain collection activities within the Finance team and ensure DSO / AR aging goals are achieved. Include scheduling reminders (both by phone or e-mail) to customers, put in place appropriate process, providing reporting on a regular basis.
  • Control & record employees expenses in accordance with the group abd local travel policies. Support them for any issue met. And populate an excel file for the purchase of employee monthly lunch vouchers.
  • This role involves development of tactical solutions to identify issues within the department; serving as a technical resource to other members of the department and as a liaison to those outside of the department
  • Participate with the Controller, senior management, and the accounting team on special projects, workflow process improvements, and special reporting requests


Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience and be studying towards a recognized Accounting Qualification
  • Excel strong skills required
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Knowledge and ability to work in both accounting, US GAAP and country specific GAAP
  • Demonstrated aptitude for evaluating priorities and multi-tasking accordingly to meet deadlines is essential
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized team player with strong communication skills


Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience with Oracle a plus
  • Must be competent communicating in English and fluent in the local language
