SUMMARY

Good optical system design has significant implications for safety, but can also be a key differentiator for a product in the marketplace.

Autonomous vehicles will make use of optical systems together with LiDAR and radar to safely transport their occupants.

 

Our team at Ansys creates the state of the art simulation software that enables our customers to design their optical systems and sensors 
and simulate their performance in the virtual world without the need for costly prototypes.

 

The successful candidate will join this team as an R&D Engineer and contribute to the continuous evolution of Ansys Speos, our
best in class optical system design simulation product.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research, design and contribute towards implementing features in a state-of-the-art Computer Aided Design (CAD) software application
  • With guidance from more Senior Engineers, develop, maintain and improve various components of complex software systems.
  • Enhance and extend the User Interface for set-up and execution of engineering simulations
  • Participate in scrum meetings. Interact constructively with colleagues, providing constructive feedback and insight to support the team goals. 
  • Investigate defects in production code

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering with 1 to 2 years of commercial software development experience
  • Experience of design and implementation of object-oriented application features in C# on .NET
  • Experienced in Windows UI technologies (WPF, …)
  • Experience in using Microsoft Visual Studio and Software Configuration management tools (GIT, SVN) 
  • Solid written and oral communication skills in both French and English
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a geographically distributed organization 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of agile development methodologies
  • Exposure to scripting languages such as Python or equivalent
  • Master's degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering with 1 year of commercial software development experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in both French and English
