SUMMARY 

Autonomous vehicles development needs a huge amount of data to be developed and validated in automotive industry but also in aerospace and defense industries. Real data are not sufficient to ensure completeness of the tests in terms of quantity of experiment (drive, flight, …) and to cover all edge cases. Simulation became key completing the tests bases. ANSYS is building the software toolchain to provide test data and demonstrate safety in the virtual world during development phase and validation prior to commercial deployment.
As an Application Engineer mainly involved in the Aerospace and Defense industry but also occasionally in the Automotive industry, we invite you to join the team, that will enable this disruptive technology. You will support pre-sales activities, customer training, demonstration content creation, samples and customer support for the AVxcelerate toolchain. You are comfortable with real time/interactive simulation, have significant experience in aerospace and defense industries in link with simulation. You have a significant experience in customers’ facing activities (Pre and Post Sales), but also software development skills (Python and or C++), you are familiar with closed loop simulation and “real time” 3D rendering use for training, you have basic knowledge in sensor simulation like thermal camera, camera LiDAR and / or RADAR.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support EMEA and global business development for Ansys AVxcelerate.
• Contribute to the development of software integration in a global application engineering team.
• Apply advanced engineering expertise and knowledge of autonomous system development to provide the highest level of technical support to customers and channel partners, ensuring high-quality, timely customer service that results in improved customer satisfaction and productivity.
• Take ownership of customer problems, proactively engage with selected accounts to provide comprehensive solutions for development and testing of autonomous systems. Work independently and contribute to all technical activities throughout the sales opportunity lifecycle, interact with customers to understand their product design needs and engineering design workflows and articulate Ansys’ value proposition.
• Provide intermediate and/or advanced training classes. Scope and deliver professional services for projects which may include collaborative work with other application engineers in the same or different disciplines.
• Gather customer requirements to support the improvement of Ansys AVxcelerate and collaborate with the Ansys product development teams for enhancing the capabilities of Ansys AVxcelerate in A&D autonomous applications 
• Participates in internal corporate initiatives to share knowledge and to create best practices, Ansys Learning Hub material content for sharing with colleagues and customers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s degree or equivalent in computer science or physics
• Programming languages: C/C++ and Python
• As the position is embedded in an international scientific context, a good English level is mandatory
• Significant experience in “real time”/interactive simulation
• Significant experience in the Aerospace industry
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

• Closed loop or “real-time” driving or flight simulation
• gRPC framework
• Git, TFS Azure devops
• Aptitude for problem-solving; ability to quickly determine optimal solutions for customers
• Ability to network using direct (face to face) or indirect (email, phone, social media) technology
• Positive, collaborative, team-oriented professionals with initiative and leadership qualities
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, demonstrating a sense of urgency when appropriate.
• Projects a professional image and demonstrates business acumen.
