ML Operation Engineer
Ansys, the global leader and innovator of engineering simulation software, is pleased to announce the opening of its first office in Africa, located in Kigali Innovation City, through a partnership with CMU-Africa. The new office extends the Ansys Customer Excellence (ACE) team, a world-class technical support group servicing Ansys’ global customer base.
Summary/Role Purpose:
The Machine Learning Operations Engineer is a pioneering role within the Ansys Customer Excellence (ACE) team, focused on developing and deploying AI applications at scale for various business operations. ACE team is in a continuous pursuit of operating with utmost efficiency and identifies AI as the new paradigm shift. This role is instrumental in leveraging MLOps knowledge and experience to streamline and accelerate AI transformation within the ACE team. The Machine Learning Operations Engineer will collaborate closely with the ACE team to create innovative AI-driven solutions, optimize machine learning infrastructure, and establish best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of AI implementation in the organization.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Develop, deploy, and maintain scalable and reliable AI applications towards technical support, learning, and development using large language models (LLMs).
• Collaborate with solution architects, and software developers to create and implement MLOps best practices and streamline the machine learning lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient model deployment, testing, and monitoring of AI applications.
• Optimize machine learning models and infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Develop and implement monitoring and alerting systems to track the performance of AI applications in production.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to deployment, and performance of AI applications in the technical support, learning, and development domains.
• Stay current with the latest trends and advancements in LLMs, MLOps, machine learning, and natural language processing technologies.
• Participate in the ongoing evaluation of new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the MLOps process.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations and practice responsible AI.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Master + a first relevant experience in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Background in foundational AI models and experience working with either commercial or open-source LLMs such as ChatGPT, Llama, Claude, etc.,
• Knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, and MLOps is necessary.
• Proficiency in Python is required; knowledge of JavaScript front-end development is a plus but not necessary.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with MLOps tools and technologies, such as Kubeflow, MLflow, or similar is preferred.
• Strong understanding of prompt engineering is preferred.
• Prior experience with AI & LLM tech-stack such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, Pinecone, etc.,
• Familiarity with Azure cloud platform is a plus but not mandatory.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and experience in developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
