Summary / Role Purpose

Autonomous vehicles will drive millions of kilometers in the virtual world before the first driverless cars hit the road. Ansys is building the software toolchain to demonstrate safety in the virtual world prior to commercial deployment. This cloud-native application hosted on the state-of-the-art infrastructure is enabled to run millions of test simulations and analyze huge complex data sets on a massively scalable and fault-tolerant architecture using cutting-edge technologies.


You will engage in very large-scale software development activities while interacting with colleagues in small cross-functional teams. You will be part of Agile working model that ensures effective collaboration. Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participates in planning, architecture, and research
  • Performs complex development activities that may require extensive analysis in areas including user experience, software design and solver research
  • Employs best practices and helps to maintain them through technical reviews and mentoring
  • Performs complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products. Researches problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions
  • Researches and understands the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues. May work with strategic customers or proxies to assess needs and develop solutions
  • Works independently with minimal supervision and may take on some planning and mentoring responsibilities
  • May be responsible for managing interns or co-ops but typically does not have direct reports


Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • BS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 5 years’ experience, MS with 3 years’ experience, or PhD with 1 year experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of working experience developing commercial software
  • Passion for crafting robust and efficient code
  • Experience in developing scalable services using Object-oriented languages such as Python, C#, Java, etc. 
  • Experience with NoSQL or RDBMS Database technologies
  • Experience with Enterprise software development best-practices, Git, Linux, Continuous integration and Continuous deployments
  • Knowledgeable in Distributed systems and Web APIs such as RESTful, etc.
  • Fluent in English

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience with Graph database
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with build automation tools such as Bazel and Ansible
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team
  • Experience delivering high-quality products in a large-scale commercial software development environment
  • Speaking German and/or France are a plus
