Summary / Role Purpose

This position is an overlay position as part of the Ansys Transversal Specialized Sales Organization that brings the most complex and innovative Ansys Solutions to the Market.

The Senior Product Sales Manager (m/f/d) will specifically support the System BU Solutions in the DACH territory.

The System BU Tools and Processes cover: Software Development, Testing and Certification, System Safety and Security, Autonomous Vehicle Sensors and Driving Simulator Solutions, Optical & Photonics, Digital Twin and adjacent platform solutions.

The Senior Product Sales Manager DACH is primarily responsible for supporting the sales and above average company growth targets as an Overlay in the DACH Automotive Sector. Assigned target customers are enterprise and strategic accounts, which are typically the largest global accounts at Ansys with high expectations of customer engagement, collaboration, executive sponsorship and growth. The successful Senior Product Sales Manager must understand customer environment, the customer’s customer/eco-system, customer’s business priorities, customer’s business challenges to align the Ansys solutions that generates a measurable and impactful business outcome for the customer. The Senior Product Sales Manager must gain executive level sponsorship (with customer and inside of Ansys), purchase commitment and manage the ongoing business relationship with the customer.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed sales quota
  • Support accurate Forecasting process
  • Build strategic relationships at the CXO/VP/Director level in close collaboration with Ansys direct sales team while engaging within divisional or departmental groups to develop new business opportunities
  • Identify the Business Objectives of the customer, build value and develop a business case/ROI to justify investment in the proposed solution
  • Support the Closing of sales of Ansys System BU software and services in close collaboration with the Ansys direct, driving successful contract negotiations where required
  • Contribute to territory and account plans designed to assist with the achievement of sales targets and company objectives
  • Build prospect pipeline through dedicated Sales Campaigns
  • Meet regularly with customers and prospects in the territory
  • Ensure constant and updated Sales Enablement dynamics with Ansys Direct Sales on the System BU Solutions.
  • Collaborates globally with all Ansys functions and business partners to ensure a synergistic, companywide approach to the account
  • Remains knowledgeable and keeps abreast of Ansys new and existing products/services


Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or bachelor’s degree with technical sales experience
  • Minimum 10 years’ sales experience with a proven track record of success
  • Knowledge of System Safety, Autonomy, Optical & Photonic solutions
  • Deep and up to date Automotive Ecosystem knowledge
  • Existing and up to date Automotive CxO personal contacts
  • Excellent communication (including at executive level), organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively
  • Ability to work collaboratively across a globally diverse account
  • Minimum travel of 50%
  • Fluent in German and English

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Ansys products/services, and pricing practices a plus
  • Knowledge of the specific accounts, industry a plus
  • Professional appearance and presentation
