SUMMARY  

Business Development Executive is primarily responsible for identifying, qualifying, and capturing new business opportunities for the Federal, Aerospace, and Defense (FA&D) line of business. The FA&D team aims to enhance national security and readiness by accelerating the transformation towards simulation, MBSE, and mission engineering across the Aerospace & Defense ecosystem. This position is expected to provide technical and business strategy support to the corporate initiatives.  

 

This position is open to any work location within the US.

  

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to the prioritization of new business pursuits and provide guidance and support to enhance and accelerate sales pipeline and drive the marketing and product alignment activities.  
  • Coordinate with engineering personnel in preparing, editing, and presenting briefings, hosting discussions with customers and partners, and will represent Ansys at trade shows, industry days, conferences, and industry association events.  
  • The Business Development Executive is a triple threat with technical and business acumen and market area experience.  
  • Leverage established relationships at target stakeholders and has the ability to interact with various customer stakeholders from engineers to executives.  
  • Assist the customers in meeting their requirements and capability gaps with those capabilities, products, and technologies available or being developed by Ansys.  
  • Serve as a senior selling mentor and market area expert supporting overall FA&D objectives.  
  • Developing growth strategies and plans to drive more strategic & extended market ecosystems of government, academies, certification companies and other market influencers across segments and industries. 
  • Managing and retaining strategic relationships with opinion-leading clients in the market. 
  • Active coordination of cross-functional teams including Sales, ACE, Marketing, and partners to deliver the excellent customer experience of Ansys.   
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of business products and value proposition. 
  • Negotiate with stakeholders. 
  • Identifying and mapping business value/strengths and customer needs  
  • Researching business opportunities and viable income streams for white space expansion. 
  • Follow and report on industry trends locally and internationally.  

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education & Years of Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Science or other related field with a minimum of 4+ years of experience in sales or business development or related field OR 8+ years of experience in sales or business development or related field.
  • Demonstrated development, implementation, and management of processes and strategies for new business capture that results in competitive capture and an improved win rate. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of hypersonics and missile defense program areas and initiatives.  
  • Successful track record of building and maintaining strong relationships ranging from senior level executives to technical contacts. 
  • Knowledge of Government contracting methodologies and current acquisition trends and customer funding cycles  
  • Demonstration of capabilities and skills for building trust, accountability and collaboration among internal and external stakeholders, team player 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with experience presenting to senior executives and customers  
  • Ability to plan, navigate and negotiate a sophisticated sale process.   
  • Ability to put team success as first priority  
  • Fluent in English and in the local language of the territory 
  • Travel: Average of 50%

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced Degree in Business or Technical Discipline  
  • 15 years of relevant Business Development and/or customer mission experience.  
  • Cross team & people management skill  
  • Experience leading opportunity captures, including developing overall win strategy; shaping deals with customers; developing teaming strategies, identifying, and closing with teammates; understanding pricing and assist in developing winning price   
  • Conflict resolution 
  • Positive thinking way of embracing challenges 
  • Experience in the Aerospace and Defense Market
