Summary / Role Purpose  

Join the Ansys Customer Excellence team and partner with our customers to engineer what's ahead, solve their real-world engineering problems, deploy Ansys software in their design workflows, and grow Ansys’ business. As a hands-on expert in Ansys products, you will use advanced-level engineering knowledge to provide technical pre-sales support, perform professional services, and help translate customer requirements into exciting new product features. You will be working within multi-disciplinary teams to advance your knowledge, experience, and business impact.  



Key Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Demonstrate technical mastery and knowledge of electromagnetic simulation techniques to provide the highest level of technical support to customers and channel partners, ensuring high-quality, timely customer service that results in improved customer satisfaction and productivity. 

  • Take ownership of customer problems, proactively engage with selected accounts to provide comprehensive Signal and Power Integrity solutions. Lead complex customer engagements throughout the sales opportunity lifecycle, interact with key customers to understand their product design needs, key business initiatives and engineering design workflows and articulate Ansys’ value proposition to Director level audiences. 

  • Instruct advanced and/or application focused training classes. Lead project teams for professional services which include collaborative work with other field engineers in the same or different disciplines. 

  • Gather customer requirements to support improvement of Ansys software and collaborate with the Ansys product development teams to translate customer requirements into new product capabilities and to guide Ansys product roadmap. Lead project teams testing new releases on industrial problems. 

  • Participate in internal corporate initiatives to share knowledge and to create best practices, both within and outside the discipline.  


Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience 

  • Required education and degree type: BS or MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field. 

  • Required minimum years of professional experience in an engineering environment: BS+8, MS+6 or PhD+3. 

  • Demonstrated use of relevant Ansys software or knowledge of other commercial CAE, CAD, EDA, PLM software packages. 

  • Subject matter expert in one or more relevant disciplines within Ansys’ business and is/will be sought out for advice by other Ansys engineers  

  • Demonstrated understanding of engineering practices and product development, experience with building solutions using simulation technology and deploying those solutions within customers’ engineering workflows.  

  • Track record of delivering exceptional customer outcomes and revenue impact.  

  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills. 

  • Logical problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to facilitate and conduct webinars and presentations to customers and to a wide range of audiences. Fluent in writing and speaking local language and English  

  • Ability to organize and drive multiple projects which are complex in nature across geographically diverse locations. Possesses a sense of urgency.  

  • Projects a professional image and demonstrates business acumen, driven to succeed  

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of time. 

  • A solid foundation in the basic principles of electromagnetic fields. Practical and theoretical understanding of challenges related to signal and power integrity. 

  • Good knowledge of circuit design and timing analysis relevant for most common signal integrity applications and compliance standards 

  • Knowledgeable with package, printed circuit boards and connector design processes and EDA Tools . 

  • Demonstrated working knowledge and previous usage of Ansys HFSS, SIwave, and Q3D Extractor or other simulation software involving real world, industry level application. 


Preferred Qualifications and Skills 

  • Preferred education and years of professional experience in an engineering environment: BS+10, MS+8 or PhD+5 

  • 4 years of experience in application engineering, customer support, or consulting services type customer facing roles using engineering software.   

  • Ability to interact effectively with senior business managers and C-level executives. 

  • Demonstrated ability to understand business requirements and translate these into an execution plan that delivers value and meets business goals. 

  • Basic understanding of OOP (Python) and Agile methodology. 

  • Familiarity with commercial simulation tools such as SIwave, HFSS, or Keysight ADS, Sigrity, Hyperlynx

  • Knowledge in board manufacturing and layout design
