Summary / Role Purpose
Join the team behind HFSS-IC/RaptorX modeler and field solver technologies for semiconductor chips. Develop high-performance software, implementing state-of-the-art methods, employing modern programming techniques and practices, able to model complex contemporary designs in advanced nodes. Engage in research, prototyping, documenting and testing activities on advanced field solver and EM modeling methods. Work on solving problems in cutting edge silicon technologies. The ideal candidate should be able to exhibit a strong foundation on computer science, mathematics, and physics and the eagerness to learn complex and diverse technologies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in the design, implementation, optimization, maintenance, testing and documentation of complex software systems.
- Design and implement algorithms, data structures and software architectures for computationally demanding tasks.
- Understand and employ software development best practices, including multi-paradigm programming models (generic/functional/OO), code reviews and continuous integration.
- Participate in bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products. Investigate problems, discovered by QA or product support, and develop solutions.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
- BS in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or other natural science disciplines with 2 years’ experience or MS
- Working experience in technical software development proven by academic, research, or industry projects. Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, parallel computing, and modern programming paradigms and patterns
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team.
- Programming skills in a strongly-typed high-performance language (C++, Rust)
- Working experience on Linux systems and development tools.
- Python programming skills
- Experience in software design, APIs, microservice and cloud technologies.
- Experience with Monte Carlo Methods and stochastic systems.
- Knowledge of computational geometry methods, mesh generation algorithms and related software development libraries.
- Knowledge of computational linear algebra and related libraries.
- Technical knowledge and experience with field solver technologies (FDM, FEM, BEM, RW).
- Technical knowledge and experience with CMOS technologies and EDA.
- Experience with GPU and/or distributed programming.
- PhD in a related field or exhibited research activity.
