Our Mission: Powering Innovation That Drives Human Advancement

When visionary companies need to know how their world-changing ideas will perform, they close the gap between design and reality with Ansys simulation. For more than 50 years, Ansys software has enabled innovators across industries to push boundaries by using the predictive power of simulation. From sustainable transportation to advanced semiconductors, from satellite systems to life-saving medical devices, the next great leaps in human advancement will be powered by Ansys.

Innovate With Ansys, Power Your Career.

This is a 6 month end of study internship for students specializing in geometric modeling, and studying in universities and engineering schools in France. The internship is based in our Toulon office, on the beautiful mediterranean costal area in the South of France.

Team: Speos Optical Design

The candidate will join the Geometrical Design & Exchange team, a team responsible for creating geometric models using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) modelers and mathematical models.

Objectives:

The objective of this internship is to improve the geometric quality of curves and surfaces used as data in the construction of optical components offered in the OPD (Optical Part Design) software module, such as light guides, or optical surfaces/lenses.

During the internship, the candidate will:

  • Define algorithms and prototype solutions in Python.

  • Implement solutions in C++ to enhance the geometry of curves and surfaces with undesirable variations in curvature and torsion.

  • Explore the frequency approach to filter key frequencies of a signal representing geometry.

Special attention will be paid to technological monitoring on the involved subjects (bibliography concerning the control of curvature and torsion variations, exploration of Python/C++ libraries to implement the algorithms that will have been defined) as well as  on the practical efficiency of the algorithms, which will be evaluated on concrete application cases.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent / final year of engineering school.

  • Skills: Python, C++, geometric modeling, signal processing, and basic optics knowledge.

  • Software: CAD softwares, Visual Studio.

  • Language Skills: French and English.
