Summary / Role Purpose  

Join the Ansys Customer Excellence team to partner with our customers to engineer what is ahead, solve their real-world engineering problems, deploy Ansys software in their design workflows, and grow Ansys’ business. As a hands-on expert in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), you will use advanced engineering knowledge to help streamline our customers’ design flow, improve product robustness and quality, and enable the customer to fully adopt simulation-driven product development. You will be working within multi-disciplinary teams to create pervasive simulation solutions, advance your industry knowledge, and grow business impact. This position will be located on-site at a consumer process goods (CPG) company. 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Provide guidance and mentoring to the customer’s global engineering workforce to ensure their success in adopting Ansys software tools to deliver on the customer’s key business initiatives. 

  • Conduct training classes to train users on Ansys solutions and products. 

  • Interlock with Ansys sales, technical, and development teams to increase customer productivity by discovering, building, and deploying new simulation best practice and workflows.  

  • Actively engage with the sales teams and the customer to identify opportunities to enhance the utilization of simulation in product development. 

  • Collect feedback from the customer and work with Ansys technical and development teams to improve Ansys products and workflows. 

  • Look for opportunities to generate marketing collateral and metrics such as success stories, testimonials, and presentation material. 

 

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience 

  • Required education and degree type: BS or MS or PhD in Mechanical/Chemical/ Engineering or related field. 

  • Required minimum years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BS+5, MS+3, or PhD+0. 

  • Demonstrated use of Ansys CFD software or knowledge of other commercial CFD software packages 

  • Broad understanding of CPG industry related CFD applications  

  • Strong fundamentals in turbulence, multiphase flows, mass & heat transfer phenomena 

  • 2 years of experience with modeling and simulation of CPG industry related applications using a commercial Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software package such as Ansys FLUENT or Ansys CFX 

  • 2 years of experience in CFD preprocessing of complex CAD models (geometry clean up and mesh generation) 

  • Logical problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in writing and speaking English. 

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, possesses a sense of urgency. 

  • Projects a professional image and demonstrates business acumen, driven to succeed 

  • Ability to travel domestically up to 25% of time. 

 

Preferred Qualifications and Skills 

  • Preferred education and years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BS+8, MS+6, PhD+3 

  • 2 years of experience in application engineering, customer support, or consulting services type customer-facing roles using engineering software  

  • 1+ yrs. experience with CFD modeling of process-industry applications and relevant physics such as mixing, non-Newtonian liquids, particulate-flows. 

  • Proficiency in C/C++ and Python 

  • Hands on experience of the Ansys Fluent User Defined Functions (UDF) framework  

  • Experience using commercial post-processing tools such as Ansys Ensight 

  • Experience with Process Integration and Design Optimization (PIDO) 

  • Ability to interact effectively with senior business managers and C-level executives. 

  • Ability to independently lead technical discussion and engagements/projects with the customer.   

  • Demonstrated record of independent time and project management 

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with diverse staff in multiple regions and multiple departments. 

  • Ability to travel domestically up to 50% of time.
