Summary / Role Purpose

The Accounts Receivable Accountant II (m/f/d) will be responsible for following general instructions with discretion as to work details, performing accounting tasks of a difficult nature requiring an experienced, professional knowledge of accounting policies, principles and practices.  This role is responsible for the reconciliation of key general ledger accounts and consolidated reporting related to Accounts Receivable.  This role is also responsible for managing a portfolio of clients in the area of accounts receivable including billing, collections and dispute reconciliation. Extensive contact with both channel partners and customers is a major component of this role.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Split/Revenue Distribution Process for Channel Partners
  • Responsible for the month-end reporting related to Accounts Receivable including the preparation of several consolidated reports (i.e. consolidated AR aging and consolidated AR allowance roll forward)
  • Preparing and researching outstanding items, and completing accounts receivable and other AR related account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the General Ledger.
  • Responsible for reconciling and maintaining the appropriate documentation and support for AR related accounts. 
  • Responsible for resolving any account/invoice discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales, business operations and customers and determining the appropriate resolution
  • Following up and resolving all client disputes and deductions in a timely manner and issuing appropriate credit memos or adjustments accordingly
  • Following up routinely to keep accounts receivable as current as possible. Sending out customer or channel partner statements as required & utilizing the AR system to document collection activities ensuring note are entered in a timely manner.
  • Preparing statements and correspondence for partners and clients regarding the accounts receivable balances often using reports created with ANSYS reporting tool, OBIEE


Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Associates Degree in Accounting or other business-related degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel (i.e. Pivot tables. Vlookup & other formulas)
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently, prioritizing assignments, managing time effectively and meeting deadlines while understanding the importance of being part of a team
  • The use of good judgment and strong business communication skills, including effective listening and phone skills
  • Ability to handle difficult customers with diplomacy and tact
  • Excellent negotiation and collection skills


 Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience with Alteryx, Excel, Outlook, OBIEE, Oracle EBS, Siebel and SalesForce a plus
  • Excellent typing skills required due to the high volume of email communication
  • 2 years’ experience in accounting with a focus on accounts receivable
