SUMMARY
The Senior Revenue Accountant is a regional position that reports into the Manager, Revenue Recognition, based in Canonsburg, PA. This position will participate in various revenue related functions including monthly close activities and revenue reporting, deferred revenue reporting, variance analysis, and providing support to both internal and external auditors.  This position will collaborate with various departments within Ansys such as accounting/reporting, tax, business operations, accounts receivable, FP&A, and others.  As needed, the position will also provide support and assistance to the U.S. Accounts Receivable team for certain activities such as cash flow reporting, aging reports, etc.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monthly close activities such as manual revenue journal entries, revenue reconciliations, deferred revenue reporting, net down entries.
  • Analyze sales and revenue data to ensure ANSYS is reporting revenue in compliance with ASC 606.
  • Prod runs, which interfaces sales orders from the CRM into the accounting system.
  • Prepare monthly Blackline reconciliations and variance analysis.
  • Ad hoc revenue requests and assisting with revenue forecasts on certain contracts.
  • Review orders to ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with ASC 606 and US GAAP.
  • As needed, assist with the management of the U.S. Accounts Receivable team in certain monthly responsibilities and reporting, specifically with cash flow.
  • Support both internal and external audit with data requests.
  • Support the department’s values and learning initiatives.
  • Participate in and identify areas for process improvement and automation.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • Prefer two years accounting experience, preferably in revenue recognition or with a technology company.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Oracle experience is preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience working at a public, multinational technology company
  • ASC 606 revenue recognition experience
