The Senior QA Engineer plays a key part in helping Ansys maintain its industry leading reputation for quality and reliability. The focus of the role is to support effective use of the Quality Management System at Ansys, promote continuous improvement and ensure compliance with appropriate quality standards and regulations.


Initial assignments will include leading and coordination of internal audits across multiple teams as well as work on training records and archival processes to meet various quality and safety standards.



  • Applies knowledge of industry standards and methods to solve quality and safety problems and promotes continual process improvement.
  • Owns and maintains specific quality system procedures.
  • Leads internal audits and works across teams and business units to investigate and resolve compliance problems. May audit suppliers or partners whose deliverables impact the quality of Ansys products.
  • Contributes to quality system initiatives to improve quality system processes and/or supporting tools.
  • May conduct activities in support of quality assurance services offered or sold to customers.
  • Assists with training and support to facilitate new staff and acquisition onboarding.
  • When compliance of a product with a safety standard is required, may plan and perform software quality assurance assessments and do work in support to the certification documentation. 
  • Performs work under minimal supervision and may coach less experienced staff.



  • Bachelors in Engineering or related field plus 5 years’ experience, or Masters in Engineering or related plus 3 years relevant experience
  • Experience with the ISO 9001 standard and with quality audits



  • A thorough and careful approach to work; close attention to detail
  • Ability to establish good working relationships with staff from multiple disciplines.
  • Ability to take initiative, behave with integrity and respond maturely to direction.
  • Competent in the use of general office software applications such as mail tools, document editors, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Skilled in problem solving.
  • Capable in planning and project management.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Practical experience with quality management, and process and risk-based methods applied to software development.
  • Experience with validation of software tools or design methods.
  • Good knowledge of quality standards (including ISO 9001) and regulations.
  • Has demonstrated aptitude to coach or supervise others.
