Summary / Role Purpose
Join the Ansys Customer Excellence team to manage a talented team of managers and application engineers, solve customers’ real-world engineering problems, deploy Ansys software in their design workflows, and grow Ansys’ business. In this global role, you will manage a team of engineers to collaborate and partner with stakeholders across entire ACE organization, Industry CTO team, Product, Marketing and Sales to support Ansys’s verticalization strategy. You will be working in a management capacity within multi-disciplinary teams to leverage your leadership skills to deliver business impact.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage a global team of engineers delivering significant growth and business impact across Ansys’ focus industry verticals and own the responsibility to:
- Support Ansys’ verticalization Go-to-Market strategy in collaboration with Marketing and Sales Operations, and aligned with the Global Technical Account Manager (TAM) and Industry CTO teams
- Work with TAMs, CTO office and ACE Subject Matter Experts to map Ansys capabilities to industry initiatives and whitespace
- Drive market adoption of the vertical application focus areas by creating and promoting sales enablement and technical content, including account mapping
- Conduct annual performance review for team members
- Engage with key customer stakeholders, such as directors / VPs, to establish the Ansys value proposition, understand their product design needs, develop and implement best simulation practices to improve customer productivity
- Partner with Regional Sales Directors to review opportunities, forecast, build pipeline, prioritize engineering resources, develop ideas and support execution of new business growth initiatives
- Lead and participate in the development and mentoring of team members, including, but not limited to, providing the team with effective guidance to support key goals, recruiting top talent, establishing cross product / sub-region collaboration, and professional growth
- Develop methods to improve operations and lead the effective implementation of resulting changes within the team
- Create a collaborative and inclusive environment for the team to work with the Ansys product development teams to translate customer requirements into exciting new product features, test new releases of Ansys products on industrial problems and measure progress
- Practice and promote One Ansys culture
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
- Required education and degree type: BS or MS or PhD in Mechanical/Chemical/Aerospace/Electrical Engineering or related field
- Required minimum years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BS+12, MS+9, or PhD+7
- Proven leadership experience in an engineering software or industry environment
- Demonstrated use of relevant Ansys software or knowledge of other commercial CAE, CAD, EDA, PLM software packages
- Strong organizational and management skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, logical problem-solving, fluent in writing and speaking English
- Projects a professional image, fosters teamwork, and demonstrates business acumen
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of time
- Ability to work in Matrix Organization
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Preferred education and years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BS+14, MS+12, or PhD+10
- Preferred number of years of industry and leadership experience: 4
- Ability to travel domestically up to 50% of time
- Ability to interact effectively with senior business managers and C-level executives
- Excellent negotiation skills to facilitate discussions and reach conclusions among peers, team members, and partners with differing opinions
- Ability to manage multiple projects which are complex in nature and coordinate colleagues across diverse teams and locations
- Demonstrated ability to foster collaboration and coordination with personnel distributed across multiple global sites
