SUMMARY

ANSYS, Inc. seeks Senior Consulting Engineer to work in Canonsburg, PA and various unanticipated locations.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with customers to solve their real-world engineering problems, deploy Ansys software in their design workflows, and grow Ansys’ business.
  • Use advanced-level engineering knowledge to provide technical professional services and help translate customer requirements into exciting new product features.
  • Work within multi-disciplinary teams to create pervasive simulation solutions, advance industry knowledge, and grow the business impact.
  • Lead in delivery of specific customer facing, technical consulting projects activities.
  • Credibly and professionally execute consulting projects that are sold, as defined in Statement of Work, resulting in high customer satisfaction and delivering value to our customers.
  • Actively engage with the sales teams and customers to identify opportunities to provide consulting services to enhance the utilization of simulation in product development.
  • Work as an integral member of the Sales and ACE teams to progress and secure the consulting business, including working with Sales to develop appropriate consulting services recommendations and Statements of Work.
  • Work closely with the ACE team to ensure timely development of effective Statements of Work and Services Proposals.
  • Monitor the execution and delivery of consulting projects to ensure customer satisfaction and develop opportunities for follow-up projects that advance the vision for improving the customer product development process.
  • Look for opportunities to generate marketing collateral from projects such as success stories, testimonials and presentation material.
  • Collaborate with Product Development to improve Ansys software products and the customers’ experience using these products.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical, Aerospace or Electrical Engineering or a related field of study, and three (3) years of experience in a related position.
  • Alternate Acceptable Education and Work Experience Requirement: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical, Aerospace or Electrical Engineering or a related field of study, and five (5) years of experience in a related position.
  • Work experience or academic coursework must have included:
    • two (2) years of hands-on experience in optical modeling of industrial applications using commercial CAE tools such as Ansys Speos, Synopsys LightTools, or equivalent;
    • two (2) years of hands-on experience performing optical design for illumination systems in the automotive, high tech, or general lighting industry;
    • experience in an optical or lighting environment;
    • experience with at least one major CAD platform such as CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, or equivalent;
    • experience giving technical presentations to prospects and customers; and
    • experience providing customer technical support, consulting services or similar customer facing activities.
  • This is a work from home opportunity.  Must be willing to travel domestically up to 25% of time.
